Free verse is a technique for writing poetry in which the poet does not follow any strict or regular rules of meter, line length, or rhyming. The result is a poetry that sometimes appears to be spontaneous and disordered; however, do not confuse free verse with randomness. Free verse poetry is often the outcome of careful design and deliberate arrangement.
